ABOUT US
Senior Pastor
A word from Pastor Troy O'Quin
I have to tell you, I’m not your average pastor. God had been dealing with me all of my life. Drugs, crime and rebellion were words I knew well for most of my adolescent years. Who would have thought that God would call me into the ministry and ultimately into a pulpit ministry, pastoring a church in the south suburbs of Chicago?
“But God chose what the world considers nonsense to put wise people to shame. God chose what the world considers weak to put what is strong to shame. God chose what the world considers ordinary and what it despises—what it considers to be nothing—in order to destroy what it considers to be something. As a result, no one can brag in God's presence.” 1 Corinthians 1:27-29
Now that I have seen the work of the salvation of Lord in my own life, I feel that by God’s grace, I can help empower others for the work of the ministry. I know first hand that God truly delivers and restores the broken lives of God’s people.
My desire is to bring an applicable message to a generation that needs to experience a real God. Simply put, my testimony is this: “I once was lost and incarcerated, not only physically and mentally, but spiritually, until Jesus came into my heart and set me free! I was still incarcerated by the iron bars of the criminal justice system, yet my spirit was free and I knew that God had begun a good work within.”
After God began his life-changing work in me, I quickly dedicated my life to serving Him and obtained my ministry credentials with the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Washington DC. Shortly after moving to the Chicago area, I continued to look for ways to serve God and while attending a Southwest Suburban church, met and immediately fell in love with my wife, Camille.
In her own right, Camille is a talented musician who leads the Praise and Worship ministry at the church. Together, we hope to bring a refreshing, applicable approach to seeking and experiencing God into a church that is hungry for a relevant Gospel.
