Face to Face

Yesterday’s reading from the Daily Bible really struck a cord in me.  Check this out:

Exodus 33:11 The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his
friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua
son of Nun did not leave the tent.

First thing that hit me was the relationship that we see between God and Moses.  Notice the bible says that the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend.  We often speak about a relationship with God but here we see that God would just come and hang out and chat with Moses.  There is something special that happens when we get together a friend and just hang out.  In today’s world of text messaging and FaceBook and all these other forms of electronic communication we tend to take for granted the face time.  When I was dating Camille I remember just wanting to talk on the phone with her for hours yet…there was even more joy when I got to see her face to face.

I pray for the day when the Lord will say that He meets with me face to face!

The next thing that hit was Joshua would not leave the tent…what was he doing?  Was he having a little face time with God as well?  Or is possible that he was just simply enjoying the fact that he had been in the presence of God?
