Memorial Day Parade

What a great time! This Memorial Day Parade was the best ever. The main factor that helped this day become the best ever was the sheer number of volunteers that participated in this event! Thank you everyone that made this the best ever!!

Celebrating Mother’s Day at General George Patton School!

Great Weekend!

May 27, 2008

Wow…that once again sums up another weekend at ROCC! We had several people recommit their lives to Christ as we discussed the importance of memorials. This certainly was not the type of message where I expected that kind of response. However, I should have learned by now to never put expectations on God because anytime His word is read and taught then it has the power to bring people to a salvation experience. I think the key this weekend was in the worship experience as we have certainly been entering into a special place of worship lately. So Sunday was simply off the hook!

After service Sunday we had a chance to hang with Brandon as we celebrate his graduation. It is always great to see young people achieve that milestone of graduation from High School! Then we had friends come to the house that we have not seen in a long while. Every time we get back together I am reminded of the importance of connecting with friends.

Lastly, we had an incredible turn out for the Memorial Day Parade! Over 50 volunteers all wearing their red ROCC shirts walking the length of the parade to pass out ice tea and candy. This really is a great opportunity to highlight the diversity of our church and reflect the love of Christ through the community! Thanks ROCC family for making this the best parade ever!!!!

Today I am off to the graduation services for General George Patton School. Really excited about this since one of the young ladies that has connected to the church is the Valedictorian! I am so excited about what God is doing through our young people!!

Back On-Line!

May 22, 2008

OK. This has been terrible! The hosting company we use for our website has been down for 4 days. This has been the worst possible 4 days to be down because of all the information going out about the playground project.

So we are back and I will be updating real soon with more playground information!

Great Service!

May 11, 2008

What a day! I did not think we would see very many out today with all the bad weather around here. Our parking lot was flooded yet even though some of our members and regular attenders were not with us we still had a great turnout! We are pushing close to the 200 mark and with the move coming up I am just amazed about what God is doing in this ministry.

Yesterday we held our special business meeting to vote on the proposal to move our church…to my utter amazement the vote was unanimous! God has united this body for the work of the ministry. I am convinced that God is pleased with our efforts to reach the seeking hearts in the community and show His love. My prayer is that we will never loose focus and that we will stay committed to what He has called us to do!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Check back tomorrow and we will hopefully get pictures of all that went on this weekend!

Spirit of God Fellowship

May 8, 2008

Last night was simply an incredible night of worship and fellowship with Dr. Sullivan and the Spirit of God church family. It is always refreshing when we can take down denominational barriers and enjoy the presence of Lord as one big Christian family!

Many of the people present approached me after the service and shared similar testimonies about how God had delivered them from a life of drugs and crime. God really is igniting a passion in people to change their hearts and change their way of life.
