God Calls…

Interesting thought I had during the conference I attended this week:

God calls imperfect people to tell other imperfect people about a perfect God!

I can feel overwhelmed when I realize how imperfect I am and I feel that as a pastor I am supposed to maintain a perfect image, yet God did not call me when I was perfect so why do I feel that I need to look perfect now? I am more convinced that we need to let people know that we hurt and struggle so that we can bear each others burdens! Amazing I could swear that is a biblical principle!!

I know….I need to keep posting

I am sitting in a conference and we are about to begin a session about blogging. I thought the least I could do get on and post quickly so that I will not feel so convicted when the speaker is telling us the importance of keeping up with this.

On another note…The trip to Washington DC was awesome last week. We worked really hard and played even harder! I am reminded that we have an incredible church family! Thank you to everyone that sacrificed their time and energy to help us make an impact in Washington DC!!

Starbucks

Well, I tell you I am excited about the Contagious Christian series but I never knew how much this series would open my eyes to the very real needs around me everyday. While sitting at Starbucks I was enjoying the lively staff and trying to get into the bible. It was strange though because the staff was a little louder than usual and I could not get into the word like I normally do. Then a gentleman came in placed his order and stepped to the end of the counter to wait for his coffee. I could since the stress behind his smile and as we talked I found out that he was going through rough spot and could use some prayer.

Who would have thought that we would be able to bring God into Starbucks??? Keep your eyes open for ways that God can and will bless you!

By the way Ms. LK we missed you and the girls yesterday! I know that you will see this and I wanted you to know things were not the same without you!!!!

OK…I have received many e-mails asking when I was going to update the blog. So let me just say I am sorry for the delay. The good thing is that now I know how many of you are reading this and that adds a little encouragement to keep this up to date.
