Proclaim the Good News!

Psalm 96:1-3 “Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Sing to the Lord; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.”
The bible just keeps me amazed! Once again as often as we read the Psalms who new this was tucked away! So this is more ammunition for and confirmation that God is calling us to Become Contagious Christians!! I am excited about this series that we will begin on May 20th. As we become contagious and begin telling Everyone about the amazing things He does then we will truly influence our environment rather than being influenced by it!

Pray and begin to tell your friends and family that they are going to want to be with us beginning May 20th!

Stay Alert!

I am writing out of deep sadness this morning. Someone came into the church this past Sunday and disrespected the House of God and the people gathered for worship by taking a wallet out of a young ladies purse. I am convinced that God has called us to reach out to the hurting community around us but it really hurts when we find that immediately after church was over a credit card from that wallet was used in a community that we have focused our outreach efforts in. I want our church family to realize that we must increase our vigilance within the church and that we must become our brothers keeper! I am determined that we will continue our outreach efforts yet I pray that we will be more vigilant and that we will protect one another. Also, as the South Holland police investigate this matter I want the church family to know that if the person is identified before he or she comes to me then I will not allow that person back in our fellowship until there is a public repentance. We must bring in Godly discipline in dealing with matters like this. Please pray with me that God will convict this person so they will come and humility and begin the restoration process.

Make the most of our time!

Psalm 90:12-17 “Teach us to number each of our days so that we may grow in wisdom. Return, Lord! How long…? Change your plans about {us,} your servants. Satisfy us every morning with your mercy so that we may sing joyfully and rejoice all our days. Make us rejoice for as many days as you have made us suffer, for as many years as we have experienced evil. Let {us,} your servants, see what you can do. Let our children see your glorious power. Let the kindness of the Lord our God be with us. Make us successful in everything we do. Yes, make us successful in everything we do. “

Another translation begins this passage with “Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.” Wow, what a prayer! God I want to make the most of my time so that I can truly grow in wisdom. This caught my attention because I think about how much time I spend pursuing wisdom. I have to ask myself every moment of everyday if I am pursuing wisdom as diligently as God desires for us to. I believe that as we pursue this wisdom then we will begin to gain the attention of the world and they will want to know more about the wisdom that we have. If I truly think about the new age movement I can see that the basis behind it is a pursuit of wisdom and if I become a diligent student of God’s wisdom then I can lead others into a relationship with the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

Let’s all make a commitment to pursue wisdom every moment of every day!

Technicle Difficulties!

Over the last week we have been experiencing some technical difficulties…The good thing is that now I know many of you are reading these blog postings so that helps me stay encouraged! I might mess up the website more often just so I will know who is checking it out!

On another note…I am really excited about this current sermon series because I believe that God is using it to confirm things within me and within our church! You are not going to want to miss Sunday because from what I have so far I think this is going to be great!

What an AWESOME weekend!

I believe we may have set an attendance record…Robb might be able to confirm this when he reads this post. We had over 238 in attendance for our Easter morning services! The two service format seems to really be working.

I want to thank all the volunteers that worked so hard to make everything as incredible as it turned out to be! There is no way I could do any of this if I did not have so many committed people sacrificially giving of their time and energy! I am so very happy of all of our workers here at ROCC. Keep up the good work as we continue to reach the lost and dying world around us.

Good Friday was also an incredible worship and prayer time as we were in service over three hours and no one left early in fact many of you told me that you had no idea we were together for that long! God was moving and it felt great to be in His presence! Let us pray that God will continue to do that good and perfect work that He has begun within our church until He returns!!

Expecting!

I am so excited about tonight! I just feel that things are going to happen that will Refresh and Renew this church and community! I was here at the church all night till 5:30 this morning as various people came in and prayed throughout the night. There is almost an electricity when you walk in the sanctuary now just knowing that God’s presence is hoovering over us! I just kept hearing God say all night “Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, what the Lord is about to do!” If you are coming tonight….all I can say is watch out!

Sandwich or Sight?

What an incredible couple of days. After the awesome message that Pastor Dave Short delivered on Sunday I escaped to spend a few days alone and I was able to reflect on that incredible message. I apologize for not getting the message posted yet but I was out in the country and this is my first opportunity to get back to the computer. The message will be available tomorrow!

There is excitement in the air as we are rapidly approaching Good Friday and I am certain that we will have an unbelievable time in the Lord. Come expecting a miracle and come ready to ask for your sight! Allow the infinite God to change your perspective and believe Him for the impossible! I know that I am bumping up my request after this weekend and I am just looking for an outpouring of God that will RADICALLY impact our world! Why just ask for our community when God can change the world?

What is the miracle your hoping for? Take that dream and multiply it by 10,000 then ask God for the impossible! I want to see many people filled with God’s Holy Spirit. I want to see the sick healed, the captive set free! I want to see the very presence of the Living God!! Join me as we seek God together for 36 hours of prayer beginning Thursday, April 5th @ 7am.
